Thermal spring – Hammam of Agistro

A few kilometers from the Greek-Bulgarian borders and 125 km away from Thessaloniki, is the arid village of Agistro. The thermal waters of the village originate in Agistro, with the Byzantine bath dating from 1100 AD, and the new baths built in recent years. Each of the bathers can be rented for half an hour by one or more people, just for a few moments of feeling relaxed and carefree.
Because the water temperature is 41° Celsius, it is contraindicated for those suffering from phlebitis, varicose veins, heart disease and people with unstable blood pressure. The hammam is an alternative entertainment proposal, which can take place at any time of the day or night. Friends, groups, couples, but also families can combine coffee, food, but also a day trip with a hammam experience. Agistro can still be used as a starting point for visitors who want to get to know the place, since the fortresses of Pupel, Lake Kerkini, Mount Mpeles and the cave of Alistratis are very close.
