On a hill northeast of Sidirokastro, is the Holy Monastery of St. Cyricus and St Julitta
It was founded by the Most Reverend Metropolitan Ioannis of Sidirokastro, in 1968, when he first came to the Holy Metropolis, after leaving Samos.
It is a commune monastery, in which are nuns who engage in knitting, gold embroidery and christian art, while they have the Women’s Orphanage and the nursing home of the Holy Metropolis of Sidirokastro in their exclusive care and concern. The Monastery celebrates on July 15th, the feast day of St. Cyricus and St. Julitta.
