West of Sikia is the hill “Koukos”. It is a steep, rocky, high hill and dominating in Sykia and the surrounding area. The top plateau is surrounded by the castle, where there was an important prehistoric settlement. Excavations by archaeologists indicate that the area was inhabited from the 11th century BC, and the habitation is probably due to the rich copper deposits began to operate them from the middle Bronze Age.
