OTE Tower is a 76-metre-tall telecommunications tower in Thessaloniki. It is located at the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki, which is one of the largest events of its kind in all of Europe.
It was built in 1970, but was designed in 1966 by the architect Alexandros Anastasiadis. The first broadcasts of the Greek Television in black and white were broadcast from this building a year after its completion, while from 1988 until 2010 it is housing the local radio station “Radio Thessaloniki 94.5”.
It was renovated internally in 2005 and was used for several years as OTE’s stand at the International Exhibition. Today, the OTE Tower has evolved into a modern telecommunications tower and is used by the Cosmote mobile network service. At the top of the tower is the revolving restaurant SKYLINE Café-Bar.
